- Teams from Disney Conservation and the Sea Turtle Conservancy released two sea turtles July 29, 2023, as part of the 16th annual Tour de Turtles event at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. Tour de Turtles tracks the journey of sea turtles from their nesting beaches to their feeding grounds and provides scientific data on how best to protect their species. Each summer nesting season, researchers from Disney Conservation study and monitor sea turtle nests along the five-mile coastline at the resort. All activities conducted under permits MTP-260 and MTP-23-133A.
