NEW YORK (February 29, 2012) - The Disney Fantasy, the fourth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, will be christened on Mar. 1 by official godmother Mariah Carey during a star-studded celebration at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Special guests Jerry Seinfeld, Neil Patrick Harris, Nick Cannon and Heather Headley will also join in and commemorate the new ocean liner. The new ocean liner is making this ceremonial stop in the Big Apple before continuing on to its home in Port Canaveral, Fla.
Building on the classic style of her sister ship, the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy features 14 decks and can accommodate 4,000 passengers. Twentieth-century design meets state-of-the-art technology with new Fantasy-exclusive features: Guests’ own drawings take to the big screen and dance with Disney characters during the Animation Magic show at Animator’s Palate restaurant. The Muppets make their debut in a new virtual adventure game. Travelers can experience fine French cuisine and expert wine parings at Remy. Exclusive to Disney Cruise Line, interior staterooms have a view of the ocean through Magical Portholes and guests can experience the excitement of the only water coaster at sea, AquaDuck.
The Disney Fantasy will sail from Port Canaveral, Fla. on seven-night Caribbean itineraries that alternate eastern (St. Maarten and St. Thomas) and western (Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel). All itineraries will include a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
