LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Disney Springs guests discover a true slice of Ireland at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, known for its authentic contemporary Irish cuisine and daily live music and dance performances.
Owned and run by two Irish partners, Raglan Road delivers a dining experience infused with genuine Irish hospitality for guests seated inside the restaurant’s multiple dining rooms, as well as those choosing to dine al fresco on the patio overlooking Disney Springs. The restaurant’s custom furnishings include those designed and built by Irish craftspeople, as well as century-old antiques, ornamentation and bric-a-brac shipped to Central Florida from Dublin when the pub opened in 2005. Four distinct antique walnut and mahogany bars, each more than 130 years old and imported from Ireland, serve as focal gathering areas.
To complete the pub’s authenticity and, in keeping with tradition, a wide selection of cold, creamy Irish beers and fine Irish whiskies are served. Through its years of operation, Raglan Road has become the top U.S. seller of Guinness beer and also has become known for its impressive local craft brew collaborations, as well as its wine list and craft cocktail offerings.
Traditional and contemporary Irish music and step dance performances create a spirited ambience daily from late afternoon through closing and during the Rollicking Raglan Weekend Brunch. Guests are encouraged to sing, clap and dance to the lively performances, and the Raglan Road Irish Dancers create opportunities for children to take the stage and have fun learning some dance steps.
Raglan Road has built a loyal local and international following, winning numerous national and local honors and awards that include 2017 Open Table National Top 100 Hot Spot; 2017 Best Irish Pub Foodster Awards (Central Florida); 2017 Daily Beast Best Food & Drink in Florida; and many more. Orlando magazine’s 2014 Readers’ Choice awards dubbed Raglan Road the area’s “Best Restaurant.” Raglan Road also has been inducted into the Trip Advisor “Hall of Fame” of five-time Certificate of Excellence Winners on the world’s largest travel site.
Each March, the pub and restaurant hosts the multi-day Mighty St. Patrick’s Day Festival events that feature top Irish bands and dancers, face painting and other festivities in celebration of the occasion. During each Labor Day weekend, Raglan Road invites guests to Central Florida’s only boutique Irish festival – the four-day Great Irish Hooley — showcasing top Irish bands on the festival circuit combined with Irish dance, face painting, food and libations.
Known for its beer-battered fish and chips, seasonal farm-to-fork specialties and the freshest cold-water seafood flown in regularly, Raglan Road also offers a menu of gluten-free dishes.
For guests wanting food to go, Cooke’s of Dublin is a counter-service location adjacent to Raglan Road where fish and chips, battered burgers and other casual fare are available. Raglan Road also features a recently remodeled shop known for its Irish-designed clothing and merchandise that includes branded kitchen linens, exclusive porcelain dishware, Irish perfumes and lotions and jewelry.
“Having built more than 400 Irish pubs, literally in the four corners of the world, we believe that this is our best expression yet,” said Paul Nolan, Raglan Road co-owner. “We are incredibly proud and excited to continue bringing the best of Ireland to Disney Springs.”
The story of Raglan Road begins on the south side of Dublin. Renowned Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh wrote a love poem entitled, “Dark Haired Miriam Ran Away” that became a song in the 1960s called “On Raglan Road,” by Irish folk singer Luke Kelly. “Raglan Road” has become a seminal Irish song and has since been covered by such artists as U2, Sinead O’Connor and Van Morrison. As a tribute to Patrick Kavanagh, a specially commissioned bronze sculpture of the poet sits outside Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant at Disney Springs.
Raglan Road is owned and operated by Irish partners John Cooke and Paul Nolan, whose Great Irish Pubs Florida, Inc., previously created Nine Fine Irishmen at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Raglan Road features traditional Irish dishes and new creations with a Celtic twist. The restaurant’s warm interior of aged walnut and mahogany woods from old Irish bars and churches was built in Ireland and shipped to Orlando. Live entertainment nightly and during weekend brunch features Irish house bands and the Raglan Road Irish Dancers. Lunch is served 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Dinner 3-11 p.m.; Bar menu 11 p.m.-late; weekend Rollicking Raglan Brunch from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
