Walt Disney World Resort has developed a pioneering program to
provide synchronized captions via wireless technology at popular
theme park attractions. The breakthrough service was created by
Disney engineers to exceed the expectations of guests with hearing
disabilities by utilizing wireless communication. Using a handheld receiver, guests are now able to
read captions while enjoying theme park attractions where
captioning previously had been impractical or impossible, such as
rides that send guests through multiple show scenes or outdoor
environments.

But time cannot erase the beauty of the structures’ intricately carved window frames nor the significance of the symbolic earth-based colors layered upon walls to protect against perceived dark forces.
Though situated on the Florida flatlands at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the mountain village anchoring the Expedition Everest attraction welcomes Walt Disney World guests with such architectural authenticity that those who’ve been to Nepal or Tibet can only nod in wonder.
From tropical jungles and verdant forests to barren rock and frozen tundra, the mighty Himalayas reveal dramatic variations in climate and landscape. Disney Imagineers were challenged to re-create such a scene when designing Expedition Everest, the mountain attraction with coaster-like thrills opening in April at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World Resort.
During a 43-year Hollywood career, which spanned the development of the motion picture medium as a modern American art, Walter Elias Disney, a modern Aesop, established himself and his product as a genuine part of Americana. Walt Disney World guests find themselves immersed in a dense tropical jungle amid the towering remains — rusted-out and dilapidated — of a fruit exporting plant. The once-landlocked packing plant known as Tropical Amity now sits on the shores of Hideaway Bay, a body of water left in the wake of a torrential storm.
