“The Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund has awarded $630,000 in scholarships to some extraordinary students over the past 12 years,” said Tanya Easterling, senior manager of Market Development for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and HHSF board member. “Their resilient stories of dedication, commitment and passion for education are a source of inspiration for our entire community.”
This year’s program featured keynote speaker Brigadier General Joe E. Ramirez, Jr. who encouraged the students to serve as examples of Hispanic achievement and leadership. The Brigadier General also challenged the students to pursue their career aspirations and to give back to their community by volunteering as mentors.
