MBD Process

Who We Are

Minority Business Development’s primary mission is to support the growth, development, expansion, and increased utilization of minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs). MBD identifies the firms, vendors and resources that will best fit and add value to the Disney brand. The “Award-Winning” program goes beyond solely creating access for MWBEs. MBD works toward building solid partnerships with minority-based businesses, community leaders and organizations. Through these partnerships, MBD works to foster a company-wide atmosphere of support and appreciation for the value diversity brings to Disney’s supplier base.

Who can participate

Any business that is minority- or woman-owned and provides products we are currently purchasing may be considered. Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) are generally defined as firms that are at least 51% owned, controlled and operated by one or more minority (or female) individuals who are United States citizens.

Minorities, as defined by the United States Small Business Administration, are members of minority groups such as: African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, Native American, or Women.

The general categories of business we seek are: Construction, Commodities, and Professional Services. Specific products or services in these categories vary at any given time based on current needs.
