LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., March 26, 2008 — The Children’s Miracle Network has awarded its Legacy Award to the Walt Disney Company at its annual celebration, citing Disney’s longtime support of the Children’s Miracle Network. The Legacy Award recognizes the long-standing commitment of organizations and corporations in supporting and fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
The Walt Disney Company has been a partner with the Children’s Miracle Network for over 20 years, dating back to 1987, when the networks Telethon was broadcast from the Videopolis stage at Disneyland. Meg Crofton, Walt Disney World Resort president, accepted the award at the annual celebration, which was recently held at Disney World. “For the past 25 years, Children’s Miracle Network has been improving the lives of children, and in doing so, improving our world,” said Crofton. The Children’s Miracle Network started as an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada.
