New Dining Kiosks Enhance Guests Dining Experience

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., March 6, 2008 — Theme park dining is going high-tech with the addition of self-service kiosks at the Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café located in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

Guests at Pecos Bill welcomed the touch-screen kiosks that display daily menus at the quick-service restaurant.  With a touch of the hand, Guests may select their favorite menu items such as cheeseburgers, salads, chicken wraps and more and directly pay for their meals with their credit card or Disney Dining Meal Plan service.

Disney has received positive feedback from Guests since introducing the four kiosks last June.  Tom Ellis is one of the recent Guests using the kiosks.  He and his family appreciate the quick and convenient service.  “The kiosks are easy to use and they cut down on wait time, which translates to more time in the park,” he said, “and the kids loved it.”

All kiosks include English and Spanish touch screens with the capability to add more languages to the menus. Walt Disney World Food and Beverage Manager Randy Chancey said the goal was to give enhance the guest experience by making it easier and more convenient for guests to dine at Pecos Bill’s.  The other added benefit is that Cast Members may now spend more time engaging with Guests in more meaningful ways.
