Enterprising Women Recognized During Annual Ceremony

Lake Buena Vista, Fla., March 4, 2008– The 2008 Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration kicked off recently at Walt Disney World Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  This year marks the sixth year for the awards event. Enterprising Women is a magazine devoted to women entrepreneurs, and businesses range from ownership of communication companies to real estate companies.  “Women were nominated on the magazine’s website and recognized in five categories related to their annual sales volume including up to $1 million sales, more than $1 million and up to $5 million, more than $5 million and up to $10 million, $10 million and up to $25 million, and $25 million,” said Enterprising Magazine’s publisher and CEO Monica Smiley.  

The Enterprising Women National Advisory Board Breakfast kicked off the even followed by the Hall of Fame induction luncheon where Sung-Joo Kim, founder of Sungjoo Group and Flori Roberts founder of Smart Cover Cosmetics were inducted. The cream of the crop business women were honored at the sixth Enterprising Women of the Year gala awards dinner such as Marcia Kropf winning the Advocacy Award for Girls Incorporated.  “We want these women to come to Disney World and have fun, said Smiley.”  Enterprising Women Magazines first issue was in May 2000 and the magazine’s editorial focus is on women who earn more than one million dollars annually.
