Disney Ambassador Becomes Role Model for YMCA Black Achievers

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Feb. 27, 2008 — Marjorie Colas, 2006 Walt Disney World Ambassador, works closely with the YMCA Black Achievers Program as a community volunteer. Through the program, African-American professionals act as role models and volunteer leaders for students ranging from grades 8-12. As part of this mentor program, Colas teaches a business and marketing class every other Saturday, and works to ensure the young adults stay focused on achieving their goals. “I wanted to be a part of the YMCA Black Achievers because I enjoy giving back to the community, and children today need a role model,” says Colas. Walt Disney World Cast Members have volunteered with the YMCA Black Achievers for the past 17 years.
