THE BUS STOPS HERE — With Cinderella Castle as their dream-come-true backdrop, Super Bowl XL heroes Hines Ward and Jerome “The Bus” Bettis (pictured) of the champion Pittsburgh Steelers were celebrated Feb. 6, 2006, at a parade in their honor at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Ward, the MVP of the Super Bowl, uttered the famous words “I’m Going to Disney World!” following Pittsburgh’s 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks Sunday night. “And,” he added, “I’m taking The Bus” — a reference to Bettis who, with his parents, joined Ward in a whirlwind Disney World “day after,” which included the parade amid a blizzard of streamers at the Magic Kingdom theme park. Emmitt Smith, the NFL’s all-time leading rusher who hosted youngsters from NFL Youth Football, joined the Steelers players Monday at Disney World. Ward’s pronouncement, with Bettis, marked a 20-year milestone in Disney’s famous “What’s Next….I’m Going to Disney World” commercials, which have become an iconic American catchphrase. Hours after the final gun, the commercial is produced and airs nationally on Monday morning. Thanks for your consideration of these images. Judging from these players there’s a lot of Super Bowl afterglow to bathe in!
