World record-setting speed climber and X-Games gold medalist Hans Florine, left, smiles with television talk
show star Tony Danza, right, on a building roof high above Times Square on Feb. 14, 2006. Florine, part of the aerial acrobatic group known as Project Bandaloop, was taping a segment for “The Tony Danza Show.” It was all part of an event Walt Disney World Resort in
Lake Buena Vista, Fla., produced in New York City to showcase its newest thrill attraction, Expedition Everest. Florine and Project Bandaloop performed vertical stunts on the sides of two giant, mountain-themed billboards in New York’s Times Square. Onlookers and passers-by hundreds of feet below saw the performance which included an original musical score, pyrotechnics and special effects. Expedition Everest, a runaway train adventure opening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park, is a high-speed, Himalayan-themed ride through a
darkened mountain cavern. The attraction officially opens at Walt Disney World Resort in April 2006. (David Roark, photographer)
