Newly crowned “American Idol” season 12 winner Candice Glover took a whirlwind trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the Memorial Day weekend, spending time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, meeting Mickey Mouse, and surprising guests at “The American Idol Experience” attraction.

While at Walt Disney World Resort, Candice recorded video segments that will soon be part of “The American Idol Experience.” She also took time to make a walk-on appearance at the attraction, surprising guests on-stage and in the audience.

Candice’s first single, “I Am Beautiful,” is available now on iTunes and her upcoming album, “Music Speaks,” is available for pre-order, for a limited time.

Walt Disney World Stunt Driver Goes to X Games

Eduardo Marques, Jr. has entertained countless fans at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as a driver for the high octane “Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.” Now, the Brazilian-born stunt car driver will be returning home to compete on a bigger stage, ESPN’s X Games Foz do Iguaçu. Later this week, Marques will be competing at RallyCross, which pits 16 of the world’s best drivers side-by-side, drifting and jumping through an exciting dirt track. His precision driving skills are routinely on display with edge-of-your-seat jumps, slides and spins as a part of the daily Lights, Motors, Action! show. Marques and other high-flying athletes can be seen on X Games Foz do Iguaçu April 18-21 on ESPN/ESPN2. Walt Disney World guests can see talented stunt performers daily in the thrill-a-minute “Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show,” featuring gravity-defying automobile, motorcycle and watercraft stunts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Continuing a grand Disney tradition from past years (file video), New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2012) is one of the biggest fireworks evenings of the year at Walt Disney World Resort, a place where fireworks are both spectacular and an every-night event. Magic Kingdom presents “Holiday Wishes” at 8:30 p.m. and the classic “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks display at 11:50 p.m. Epcot’s “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” salutes the approaching 2013 at 6:30 and 11:40 p.m. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the 25-minute spectacular “Fantasmic!” will be presented at 6:30, 8 and 10 p.m., with the popular “Lights! Camera! Happy New Year!” fireworks display at midnight.

Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz, from Disney’s newest animated adventure comedy “Wreck-It Ralph,” now in theaters in 3D, make their debut in a new character greeting experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests visiting The Magic of Disney Animation attraction are invited to step through Game Central Station, a key location from the film, where they’ll catch glimpses into various game worlds on their way to a meeting with Ralph and Vanellope in the candy-coated cart racing game, “Sugar Rush.” (Gene Duncan, photographer)

The newest “American Idol,” Phillip Phillips, surprised a theater-full of park guests Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 when he made an appearance on-stage at “The American Idol Experience” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort.

Phillips, who hit the top 10 on the charts with his single “Home,” was in central Florida for a performance the “American Idol Live!” concert tour. The nationwide tour continues through mid-September 2012.

In addition to making a surprise appearance for guests at “The American Idol Experience,” Phillips taped a series of short videos that Walt Disney Entertainment plans to utilize in the future during the attraction experience.

Star Wars Weekends Returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida

Walt Disney World and Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park celebrate the Star Wars film saga and the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars with Star Wars Weekends — Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 18-June 10, 2012.

More than 60 Star Wars characters roam the park as Star Wars celebrities appear in themed parades, talk shows, star conversations, behind-the-scenes presentations and autograph sessions.

Actors appearing for Weekend 1 included Ray Park (Darth Maul, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace), Dee Bradley Baker (Captain Rex, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), and Andy Secombe (Watto, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace).
